The market is rough right now. If you do like the job, I’ll say a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. You can try to negotiate the salary a little higher, but unless your severance is going to last you at least 6 months, I’ll take the job and keep looking. In that time, you’ll have guaranteed income and will also be building your experience.
I agree with this as well. It is a really rough job market. If nothing else you can take it and then continue to look for something else in the meantime.
Take it and keep looking
What happened with the recruiter who reached out to you? Did you interview for the engagement manager role? I think you should keep looking, don't settle for less than what you are worth. If the recruiter reached out to you, the recruiter saw something in you. Hold on to that and start networking with people in that role to learn more.
That makes sense. So, did you interview for the role? I would keep in touch with her. Try to learn more about the role and see how you could prepare when another thing like this opens again, in case you didn't get this time.
It is better to keep engaged yourself into something rather than keeping gap in yr resume.
Maybe you can ask for senior associate title?
Yes, the market is incredibly tough at this time. Take the role and keep interviewing. Nothing wrong with leaving this job if you find something better in a few weeks or a few months. Don’t update your LinkedIn.
I still have my old job marked as current working. Tbh I’m a little embarrassed to put a gap (update( bc technically my last day was may 16. I’m also hesitant to put another associate titled job under my name
Seems desperate to take a role making more than before? Even tho it’s only 5k more, more is more. And any job is better than no job. Don’t let your ego get in the way of being able to take care of yourself and family.
