How does your company find more clients?

For folks that have 10+ years of experience in Canada, what has salary progression been like for you? Keen to hear from folks that stayed in consulting as well as folks that exited. I keep seeing American numbers and want to get a better understanding of what growth can look like in Canada. Thank you!

Advice when looking for Tech Consulting internships in Chicago or DC Metro? My GPA (3.04) has disqualified me from most major companies. I've opted to focus my efforts into my student organizations and helping others reach their goals, in doing this I compromised for a B average. Are there any firms that will accept recommendation letters with the application? The networking route is also something I am exploring, but haven't had much success thus far. Any help is welcome! There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

After 10 years of working as a FTE PM/producer I’ve now been laid off (thanks Covid) and am looking to start freelancing for the first time. What advice do you have for a new freelance PM/producer?
Also, what kind of insurance do you take out as a freelancer?

I’ve been a licensed general lines (2-20) insurance agent for year and a half and have sold around 2M in premium, of which most of it is personal lines (homeowners, DP), and some commercial lines business. Even though I’m licensed to write my own business, the sole producer in the company is my boss. I currently make 35k + 15k in commissions (approximately). Is this a normal salary? Or how much should I be making? Appreciate your help
