Pretty bad, I'd expect that bridge to be well burned. If it's the right thing for you in the medium-long-term, then still do it. Think through how you want to communicate the reason - particularly if you're joining an industry where "it's a small world" and it might impact future job opportunities. If it's a company the size of e.g. Big 4, I wouldn't worry it about it too much though.
I did this, I got offered a job with a small consulting shop, then offered a job with Deloitte 2-weeks before onboarding. I gave the guy who invited me a call and just told him the truth, he said I’d be silly to turn down a job with Deloitte for them and we moved on. Things happen, it’s okay.
You totally burn the bridge. Carbonise it. Word might spread in small, tight-knit industries.
I've done it twice, no ragrets

If you want to do it, do it. But do expect to ruffle some feathers. But that’s life.
Loyalty is a thing of the past - do what’s best for you!

More info needed. What’s on the table on both sides beyond progression? Brand name? Type of work? Comp?

Ultimately, do what’s best for you but make sure you’re weighing the trade-offs very well. I personally don’t believe in the promise of quicker progression because there’s no real way to guarantee it. I think the challenge here is if you continued pursuing other opportunities after already accepting this one, it is some type of way but companies aren’t loyal themselves so….
If it makes you happy. Do it. Have a think about why you re feeling this way and if it’s something you can’t shake off, I’d say go for it.
