So I have the option of being on payroll or being a 1099 contractor. Does anyone have insight on the pros/cons for each?

Having thoughts about leaving Tax for a smaller Co that specializes in SALT credits and incentives... but could this limit me down the road experience wise if I decided to leave there? I have a diverse experience now, but I don’t want to be looked at as only SALT later.
