So I’ve been unemployed for over a year now considered long term unemployed my severance ran out and my unemployment benefits ran out I’m a bit on a pickle here! So I need to find ways to make money fast and remote as I have a toddler to pick up from school. At this point I’m overwhelmed. I have applied to over 1000 jobs and gone to 20-30 interviews. No success yet I welcome any ideas! If you have any ideas for me I would love to give it a try! Be creative! Consider this a group project!

You may need to pivot into a new industry and even consider a trade like nursing that has many more opportunities and longer term stability. It may require training but it very well may be worth it in the end.

Thank you! I have tried to pivot nursing is not an option for me as I have a bad problem with blood but that is really good advise thank you!

Marketing and Comms are absolutely brutal fields to be in right now, have you tried looking at similar fields? (think PR, maybe even UI/UX or design fields) If not I’d start looking into either a side hustle (Uber/Onlyfans/Part-Time work) while you grind out applications and interviews on the side or find a spouse to support you

Thank you for your reply/ time/ tips! I’ve tried looking as a paralegal my field before, bartender that I did for years. I even tried removing some of my qualifications for a specialist role or even admin assistant. Uber is not an option for me as I don’t drive. I will try everything else thank you so much!

I *vaguely* heard a lot of marketing people are shifting to creative strategist roles. Maybe also learning to run online ads at scale could be worth it, that ad revenue is still going strong for the big tech platforms. Just spitballing here, though

That’s a really good idea! I’ll try that! Thank you!

Good day!

I'm planning to search for a job in foreign countries but I have some questions in my mind...
1. What would be my minimum salary
Please be noted that I'm spending 1.5L -1.8L pm for my family expenditures (family of 2) with the similar way of expenditure how much should I earn?
2. Which country would provide better opportunities to Bigdata Engineer?
3. Is it better to stay in India with 21LPA or should I consider relocation to other countries?

Thanks in Advance!!

I've been tasked with developing an M&A Integration playbook from scratch (I'm in industry and don't have the library of materials/templates you consultants have). Anyone know where to find a decent example, or resources online to help me build one? We will be bringing in consultants eventually to help review/validate what we put together. TIA!

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
