This is honestly part of the reason for why I left my last job and starting tomorrow at a different job that pays better and is also a step up, which gives me the chance to finally prove to myself and others I can be more than a bottom rung 'punching bag'.
I worked at Papa Johns for just over two years, and ended up learning most of the lead and closing stuff in that time, and also ended up having to be back up for them when it was busy and still couldn't get any lead position that opened up because they chose to end up pulling people from other stores or hiring a random person for it when they weren't picking the least deserving person in store. The store manager there recently found out I'm now in a lead position two months after firing me over my choosing to not argue with him like he wanted.

I have met many people who work harder avoiding work than it would take to do the job correctly in the first place.
Pro
Exactly and they always get away with it. I have never seen someone like this getting a write-up or any feedback from the management.
