I actually have this pic of me holding my 2yo like that in front of a bathroom with a sign similar to that 😂

I think my favorite part is the hesitant mother....like "we shouldn't, but...." lol

I am looking to incorporate more weights into my workout routine. I do a lot of cardio (biking, beachbody videos, run/walks, etc) but really want to focus heavily on strength training. I am the type that needs to follow a program, otherwise I don’t really stick to it. Does anyone have any at-home strength training programs that they’ve seen results from? Not sure if this matters, but I’m a female in my early 40’s and have the metabolism of a slug. Thanks in advance!

Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!

R u going to office every week for 1 or 2 days?

I’ve now reached the point in my career where I have the experience, a good client base, and consistent referral sources that I’m ready to leave the small firm I’m with and start my own practice. My preference would be to find a partner and form a partnership because I’d like to have someone to bounce ideas off of and for some social interaction, but if I can’t find the right partner, then I’ll do it alone. Any advice on branching off to start my own firm - whether it be solo or with a partner?

Hey guys,

I have a second round (out of 3) with Bain coming up. Overall, scored quite high and was just told to be more answer driven, which I am working on.

Did a couple of cases but really feel burnt, no real added values in the ones I do now.

Any insights or advice on what to prepare for round 2? What are my chances if the first round went well with the Consultants?

Its in Europe FYI. I've also nailed the prep for fit, with different situations in a STAR format.

If I only plan to own the house I’m buying for 6-8 years, is it better to do 30 year or 15 year mortgage. Assume about a 0.5% lower rate for the 15 year.

After some searching on Fishbowl, apparently FAAS is broken out between: TAAG, Transactions, ESG, Finance Optimization, Risk Management.

If I want to do like 60% technical accounting research and memos, 25% transaction/IPO work, and maybe like 15% Finance Optimization (ERP implementation), can I do that if I am aligned to TAAG? Or should I apply to general FAAS?

Fellow biglawboiz, what’s your “go to” nice casual outfit in the summer (e.g., hanging out with friends in a casual setting, dinner at a restaurant, etc.). Mine has been jeans and a black v-neck, but honestly I just need a change. I’m also in my early 30s so probably too old to pull off the nice athliesure look (e.g., lulu shirts). Polos feel a little too preppy but maybe at my age that’s the look I need to go for? Just curious what you guys like to wear (also any brand recs are welcome).

Is anyone at a job they really, truly enjoy that also pays competitively (and has good benefits)? In my experience, I haven’t found anything that satisfies both. Either I love the job and I’m grossly underpaid or the job is totally mediocre but the money is great. Is it really possible to have it all or do I need to lower my standards? Maybe it’s just the way this industry is?
