Someone in another bowl said his coworker was promoted after talking to the VP about golf everyday. I know women who take golf lessons so they're not left out of the boys golf games but I hate golf and I can't afford it but I also hate playing games. Hard work is not the answer either lol.

I went to an Ivy League college and you could take golf as a business elective reason being according to the college catalog was that some of the biggest deals in history have been made on the golf course. It was very popular with women who wanted the same leg up that men have seemed to have for years.

Tell me again why ivy leagues schools are elite lol. When I was in wealth management the women took golf so they could not be left out but inevitably they were so you can't get into the white boy's club with just golf alone.

Try to find something else you’re interested in that they are interested in too!

First day of 30mg vyvanse today. Had a rush of energy and hyperfocus (too much so) about 2-4 hours in, but had a complete crash 5hrs after taking the pill (just a wave of fatigue, felt very good after a quick 15min nap actually) and not sure if it had any effect after. Is this normal? Should I stick it out for a few days or is this a big sign that I’m not on the right meds/dose? Nervous to keep trialling this during the workday since a midday crash is not ideal. Appreciate any advice!

Every night for like the past month I’ve been getting incredibly emotional about adulthood. I miss the lack of responsibility, the simplicity of life, friends were always around, and less pressure to be successful.

I’m 3 years out of college now so it’s not like I just started doing this stuff, but I am feeling the exact same feeling as I did when I first started work and just wanted to be back in college. I know I just need to grow up and accept that’s how life is but it’s incredibly upsetting

Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!
