I would hope they do, because I genuinely mean it when I say it to people 😅

It’s a way to make that person feel good about themselves by acting like they care for you. Happens a lot. Human nature. I’m sure they’re trying to care, but saying those words makes them feel like they’ve expressed it
This makes sense

I’m not religious, but when people have sent me prayers or prayed for me, I felt it how I would hope someone would feel when I tell them I am sending love their way which I do. For me, it’s letting the person know you are holding space for them in your heart, that you care about them. Whether it has an impact on the recipient depends on how receptive the recipient is. I can say I personally have felt comfort when I knew people were sending me love, but I respect it if it’s simply not your bag.

Now you guys who say you don’t feel it have me concerned because I say this a lot (obviously mean it) 😅 How would you rather hear/receive this from a friend?

What do you say if someone is going through a rough patch and you’re too far for a real hug or in person convo?

Kiss and hug
I genuinely mean this when I say it to my friends because I’m not physically there to hug them or even do something for them when they’re down. I feel it when others say it to me but it’s people I know.

Thanks for bringing this up, I know when people say it they are trying to be sweet and caring but somehow I find this meaningless
