I live in Belltown and I like it for what it’s worth - am in my early 30s and have a long term partner that I live with but no children. Neighborhood is quiet but very walkable to both amenities and work, and I like that it’s so close to both the Seattle Center and the waterfront. Probably not a great neighborhood for people interested in nightlife though, and there definitely is a noticeable homeless population even on streets right by luxury buildings.
Lol never heard of anyone having that title at BCG. Honestly for BCG we do similar work to the consultants in our SF office, just with more focus on local clients (BCG operates on a regional staffing model though so you can theoretically be in the Seattle office and do the exact same work as an SF consultant by flying down there every week)
Bell-evue

SLU is former Amazon land, now most of them are remote and relocated away. I would not live in any of those places right not, SLU bc it’s semi abandoned and bell town and cap hill bc the city has gone to 💩. Unless you can afford the rich part of cap hill, I’d find a safer area in north Seattle or the suburbs to the east
ACN 1 is either full of shit or just being alarmist. Ballard core is not unsafe overall. There are actually new businesses sprouting up (the boxing gym stretch).
Yes, Ballard took a hit during Covid but it’s definitely gotten back/close to pre-Covid times. There are definitely stretches to avoid, but Ballard core is great if you can afford it.
Renton.
It's in the name. You get a ton of rent
Or Bothell, you're just one R away from a brothell
I live in Cap Hill - it’s dirty, expensive, and lots of homeless. SLU is very clean (still expensive probably more so than cap hill). Check out Queen Anne or Belltown. If you are ok to commute to the city check out Ballard, Fremont, UVillage.

Thanks, when people ask about living in SLU I just tell them as far as I know everyone left 😂

Would help to know where you’re moving from? Lots of people in Seattle complain about qualities of neighborhoods when they’re just complaining about city life
Wallingford, Fremont, Greenlake, Eastlake, Ballard, Queen Anne are the only places I would live in Seattle, aside from Renton/Bellevue but those aren’t within Seattle. All the Seattle neighborhoods I mention have lots of great things within walking distance!
If nightlife isn't a top priority I'd say Magnolia and Roosevelt too. Roosevelt in particular is super underrated as it's right by 5 and on the light rail so you can get everywhere super quick.
Cap hill for your first year because it has the biggest concentration of restaurants and bars and is walkable to downtown. Then move north. Wallingford, Fremont, and Ballard are all nice.
I think it really depends what you want. Every neighborhood has its advantages and disadvantages. I like West Seattle, close to everything, but still it feels far enough
Definitely Cap Hill. Preferably northern Cap Hill.
I’d say none of the above and go for Uptown/Queen Anne
Early 30s, no kids here. Just moved to Wallingford this past week from Brooklyn. Liking it so far. Partner works in Woodinville and we wanted to be on the north side of the lake but still have a Seattle address. Close to Fremont, Ballard, and Green Lake and WF has a few gems of its own… though the neighborhood as a whole could use a face lift.
Where will you be working? What do you want in a neighborhood (ex: bars, restaurants, free parking)?
I’m in Belltown and I love it. Close to the water and downtown but quiet. Cap was never my vibe but SLU would be my next choice because of how walkable it is. Definitely depends on your budget too.
I live in SLU and while the offices are not back to pre-covid full the residential buildings are filling up. Few new rental complexes have been built and right now have great move-in incentives
Definitely Belltown. The only downside is traffic. Apart from that Belltown has lots to offer and enjoy.
+1.. single woman who calls Belltown home and loves to walk.. yes more homeless now, but have never felt unsafe ( go out running at 2,3am sometimes, go out for late night snacks at 11 or later often).. wouldn’t live anywhere else. I have a place from where I can see the sound, and the sun rise over Rainier in the mornings.. after a few years still takes my breath away..
have lived in lower Queen Anne (uptown) for the past few years and really really enjoy it. Would only be tempted to move to belltown but haven’t becuase I love being able to walk to multiple grocery stores here lol
Lived in cap hill, left after a year because every weekend at 2am became time for 20 year olds to shout down the road at their friends. Moved to upper Queen Anne, pretty chill but not worth it till they put that Safeway back. Both were comparatively expensive. Bought a house in madrona, love this neighborhood though might be better if you’re raising a family and need the space of a house.
Do you know where you’ll be working? Lots of great neighborhoods but definitely would not recommend SLU. Like living in a somewhat empty office park.
CapHill is where all the fun is - SLU has the nice apartments - I am parrilla to lower caphill moving toward central district
I adore West Seattle. Best views, so much great food, and a quick drive downtown, especially with the bridge open.
