Hi, do we have any testers here?
If yes, hit like.
Got an interview with Amazon within their Advertising department. I hear working for Amazon can be great if you get into the right department. Anyone have insights to their advertising department? Good or bad? Also, would love some interview tips if you have them! (It’s for an Executive Assistant position) thank you!

What’s the longest time you’ve waited to hear back after conducting your final loop interviews for FAANG Companies??? I finished mine last Thursday & they told me I will get my decision between 9/6 - 9/9.
I feel like this wait is torture!!!!!! I’m also a CW so hoping I get this role so I get converted over to an FTE.

I only include recent and relevant work history on my resume and LinkedIn. People will have bias for many reasons, only give relevant information for them to apply their bias.
I’m 40 but finally graduated with my bachelor’s from one of the best universities in the world just two years ago. I saw new grads with zero work experience get roles I would like but I worked in a skilled trade for about 10 years and I think it was holding me back from getting interviews.
I removed my trade work which essentially knocked 10 years off my age as far as anyone knows and I’ve not only gotten a role in product but continue to get interview requests. It’s a sad reality, make it work to your advantage.
When I was younger I'd purposefully keep my graduation date off. I'm starting to get to the point where I include it to show I was a young product executive. People are biased. I'll eventually remove earlier experiences from my resume with time. I also avoid listing my sales experience and other things I did in my early life to get experience. We live in a world of extremes. One of the reasons I've lobbied for years for HR to remove personal names, college names, demographic information from any resume they hand me.
I think if a company is judging you based on your age rather than experience they are missing out. Good companies will appreciate your experience and f*** the rest
Agree with both of you. Find companies that appreciate you for who you are. But also just search in bulk and accept the fact that people have bias. We as a society should fix this, but you the individual are not in that position to do so. Best to treat others we'll and maybe in the future you'll be in a scenario to do the right thing.
Wow...I thought such blatent ageism was not at all tolerated in the EU. Market yourself in the manner that is most relevant to your industry experience. But the more I hear stories like this, the more I am resolved to never higher FAANG staffers that are over 40.
Sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this. That amount of experience should be a positive, not a negative.
Yikes - how frustrating! I agree with one of the other posters here - only list most recent/relevant experience. That way you're not really lying, just being strategic about the details you share.
I think if you put your education at the top of your resume and include on your job descriptors that you took on the roles while completing a degree you should be fine.
