I don’t see any reason to tell the company at this stage unless you’re planning on not joining, in which case it doesn’t matter. No chance they rescind the offer though. That would be shocking.
What is the reason you’re thinking of informing them? Are you just trying to understand the implications and benefits? There are ways to learn about the benefits without disclosing the illness.
^ seconded. Please do not disclose, and once you start you should utilize any of the benefits you need. So sorry you’re dealing with this, wishing you all the best.

Be "selfish," as you put it. Join full time and use your employee benefits package as much as you need. You've earned it. Ask HR for detailed policy documents on sick days, short term disability, long-term disability, etc. The insurance is some of the best you can get through a US employer. If you find that symptoms and/or medical appointments are interfering with your ability to do work duties, you'll want to understand what options you can take for your health and also for lower intensity casework (e.g., flex capacity, internal opportunities, etc.)

You will want to check whether there is a waiting period before you can start taking disability leave with pay. This probably differs across firms; for example, at Deloitte, you need to be here for one year before you’re eligible for this benefit.

Agree with everyone else. Don’t tell them the reason. You can get the info without telling them. The insurance is great. Don’t feel guilty about using it to the fullest extent in your time of need.
Short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance are all in place immediately. Search time benefit (aka “transition”) is only available after 12 months.
