“” Forget “” other people and their stupid opinions , don’t listen to haters . This is a good opportunity to learn the Hospitality industry , which could lead to much bigger and better things . Especially if you put some formal education behind it .. Besides who says you have to work at McDonalds for ever .
Focus on learning skills you can take forward with you to future employers. Be dependable and learn as much about the job as you can. Attitude is the key to 90% of life.
Congrats! Don’t listen to people, what matters is that you got hired and can support your family. I’m really happy for you and now you have an opportunity to learn and grow from this. I wish you the best!
My dad says if someone is willing to teach you something for free, do it you never know when or if it will come in handy. It never hurts while working at mc d's to keep looking for something better. I've had friends in the past that started at the ground level in food franchise restaurants and years down the road ended up in corporate positions making a really good living. If there's some kind of education help from Mc D'S to go to school and learn something else or improve your position moving up do it in my opinion. Best of luck to you
If you applied and you got hired then everybody should be happy for you,it doesn't matter the position. It's that they Hired you, congratulations
Congratulations!!
It’s a wonderful start! After 90 days, look into Tutition assistance and go to school and continue to better yourself! Be kind to yourself and you could grow within the company!
Blessings to you, and because you are grateful god will take you far!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!🎉🎈🎊 ✝️🙏🏽😇
Congratulations! See this as an opportunity and pay no attention to anyone tht says otherwise. Take every advantage they offer you.
Congrats on the pathway to bigger and better things if not now but surely very soon these are stepping stones and your definitely on the correct path
McDonalds was my first job. I loved it. It taught me hard work paid off, the importance of being on time, kindness and compassion for others. I ended up working as a shift manager. These basic principles translate to all aspects of life . There is no place for Ego, ask for direction and help if you need it. People want to help and a good manager doesn’t expect you to know everything. Smile and be nice to the customers. Even the mean ones. You never know what they are going through.
Congratulations!
All the best from my heart , job field is so volatile
After being employed for 4 yrs since April it’s been a great mission indeed looking and trying to get A job

Ignore other's opinions and make your own :) Sometimes it is hard, fast moving and pressure, but their training is the best in the world, do as many courses as possible :)
Our son started at Maccas - fantastic training which elsewhere got him offered a chef apprenticeship which he then went on to cheffing around Europe with, from Australia. Was promoted to junior Sous chef in the 32nd best Michelin 🌟 restaurant in the world (in London) Covid laid claim to that, but opened the door to uni as a mature student. He now has a 1st class Honours degree in Engineering & Science & was head hunted by a prestigious firm, for a junior engineers job, straight out of uni, having done 2 internships! It all started with Maccas!
So happy for you ….. my first job was in the Catering / hospitality industry,it gave me those valuable skills necessary for the workplace ie, Communication and negotiation. Please don’t let others discourage your efforts,as Customer facing roles can be challenging, but are rewarding and character builders for your long term success. Good luck.
Absolutely nothing wrong with McDonald's, as matter of fact - it's a great learning ground. Learning great customer service and reliability is a lost art - and it's something AI can't replace. Use this experience to say hello to people as they come and go and make friends in the community. Local utility companies, hospitals, nursing homes, auto dealers, and god knows whatever else can use great customer service representatives. Or those who know how to train others.
But yes, you will have to rise above some crappy, lazy attitudes from some other folks you might encounter.
But hold your head up, do great work and revisit your self and opportunities in a year.
Congratulations! I second everyone's motion to ignore those who look down on food service. Anthony Bourdain said this and it's true, whether you're working at McDonald's or Alinea:
"You can always tell when a person has worked in a restaurant. There's an empathy that can only be cultivated by those who've stood between a hungry mouth and a $28 pork chop, a special understanding of the way a bunch of motley misfits can be a family. Service industry work develops the "soft skills" recruiters talk about on LinkedIn — discipline, promptness, the ability to absorb criticism, and most important, how to read people like a book. The work is thankless and fun and messy, and the world would be a kinder place if more people tried it. With all due respect to my former professors, I've long believed I gained more knowledge in kitchens, bars, and dining rooms than any college could even hold."
Maintain a clean record, no criminal, if you finish high school, go to the junior fire academy! great first responders job.,
No one around here should be hating on the kidd, not cool
