Regret is part of any career. The best you can do is decide based on what you value now and not the version of you who said yes or no five years ago.
If you are stilling thinking about jobs you said no to YEARS later then you need to learn how to let go. Do you do this for other parts of your life? Therapy should help. Have regret about your current move may be connected to your inability to let go.
I agree. Seems like OP is a coulda-shoulda-woulda person.
It’s very hard to tell what a job is going to be like until you’re on the inside. I had a similar experience. I left the “great job” and went back to what I’d liked doing before.
The grass always seems greener on the other side. Gotta let go of the regret, learn some lessons about why your last move didn’t meet your expectations, and just move forward making the best decisions you can with the info you have available. A change in mindset and expectations can move the needle on how much you enjoy your day to day, good luck!
Two months in can be hard at any new job. You are still learning the ropes. It doesn’t mean it can’t become your dream job. Dream jobs take effort. Dive in. Put your full energy into learning everything you can about the team, the company, etc. Be proactive. Take ownership of your career. Hire a career coach. Sounds like that may be a good idea to assist you in figuring out what you really want out of your career. If you are interested, I can recommend one.
