The builder didn’t put the type of door in our new home that they promised earlier and said the one we asked is not allowed for our model. Later we found that another house with our layout has the type of door we had asked. I escalated to the sales team and even the regional head but they just plainly lied that we got when we signed for. In this case would you escalate to c-suite and legal officer and threaten to sue for breach of contract or just walk away?

What does the contract say? What is in the specs you signed off on ?

No need for escalation

1) look at the contract. Easy

2) don’t close until you get the door

This is an easy problem to fix with new builds. You’ll have walk throughs and everything. You have a dozen different times to fix this

Always get it in writing - home builders are some of the worst idiots and liars I’ve ever seen

It may cost you more both in dollars and time to try and pursue them than to just switch the door yourself

I plan to just escalate to c-suite and head of legal/compliance only. I have an email from someone on the staff that said I would get the door I want but they have now left. The sales staff claims it was a mistake.

This is why you need everything in writing.

The signed documents do not have anything because it was supposed be the default door

With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. I have significant equity in a property (300k+) and maybe another 200k across other properties. I have a decent amount of money in cash and already 200k or so in stocks. Would you consider pulling money through cash out refi and using it? I get nervous for stocks being so high. I have a few properties in pipeline already. How would you suggest using it (if at all).

After being mugged and having my things (including my keys) stolen, I was locked out of my townhome after business hours on a weekend. I was told on the phone when dialing my complex’s after hours number (which is managed by a 3rd party company) that my complex’s policy would let me in for a cost of $100 (as it was after hours). After I was let in, property manager informed me the charge was $200. Is there anything I can do here? This is in Minnesota. Help appreciated!!
