They didn’t like us living in more affordable places while getting big city paychecks, or not having to leave our babies with stranger and spending on daycare or not having to spend on gas and lunches or having to microwave our meal preps. We survived years of inflation, kept their doors open during covid.

The idea that paying someone less based on where they live is such a scam.

I find it particularly obnoxious when upper level management says “well it’s rough for parents to return to office…but young people should be happy! They’ll meet people etc” as if young people aren’t substantially poorer just by virtue of how the economic system works lol
My fav is “remote, but must be within driving distance.”
I always read those as “we’re currently remote but upper management is going to change that quite soon”
