McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.
Any any insight on Greenberg Traurig?
DM or reply if interested

I live in the Heights and follow the same pattern - work fully remote and love getting out for midday walks. Would recommend it to anyone! It’s a great neighborhood, lots of sidewalks, character, trees, green space etc. Mostly single-family homes with modest yards, but you’re still right in the middle of amazing restaurants/shopping/entertainment/healthcare/etc. and only 5-10 mins from downtown. Plenty of community events and activities.
heights or montrose!
I’d say heights too, you’d have good access to the hike and bike trail
Or near memorial park
Heights, montrose, rice village/river oaks n Washington/memorial corridor
Lol walking? Wrong city altogether.
Heights. Maybe west u.
GOOF is cheaper than the heights but has a lot of the same perks
Gardenoaks/Oakforest
Garden Oaks / Oak Forest - easily walkable neighborhoods and connectivity to the Bayou trails. Having been in the Heights, it’s slightly less walkable if you want a destination (coffee shop, restaurant, etc.) but more walkable for enjoyment.
Avoid: downtown, midtown.
Garden Oaks I feel like is an underrated neighborhood. Heights is nice but Garden Oaks is really cool also and has trails. Its sometimes cheaper than Heights also.
Bissonnet
Heights for sure. You can find everything from apartments to $450k row homes to $2M+ homes. Look near 19th street, or a few blocks north or south of 11th, between Shephard and Studewood, if you want to be able to walk to a coffee shop, grab a sandwich, etc. Anything a few blocks off Nicholson (runs N/S) is great for access to the hike and bike path, where you can walk/run/bike all the way to downtown.
I moved into the heights from the burbs earlier this year. Love it. Great food, ability to get out and walk. Montrose is a great spot too!
Walk-able or just going for walks? If just going for walks, lots of good options mentioned. If walkable… that’s a lot more limited.
Heights is the most walkable, but there are pockets other places that can also be good.
Just good walking, really most of the options mentioned are worthwhile. I’d actually expand it to include Spring Branch and West Memorial out to about Eldridge (near energy corridor area).
If you have school age children i like Bunker Hill Village or Piney Point Village, otherwise The Heights or Rice University area.
I agree with all the comments above. I live in heights and it is a great neighborhood. I get out and walk my dogs every day and I am always running into neighbors who are out doing the same. I love the landscaping in the area too, gives some scenery to my mid day walks!
Rice military. We are right by the parks and constantly see bike riders and runners throughout the day as well.
River oaks / Heights! I run a airbnb downtown & its so so dirty in the area . Midtown was to busy for me , my old place was like seven minutes from the Galleria it had a nice walking area too!
River Oaks/Uptown
The Heights for sure.
