Guys, I got an offer letter from Tata Consultancy
Few observations I have where I need your suggestion.
1. Fixed Basic is only 18% of CTC. I think the only benefit from this is lower Retirals deductions.
2. There is one "Personal allowance" that is almost 70% of the BoB. Any benefit from this on tax?

It does not pay very much. I was invited by one to have dinner with the Dean and she was great and transparent about the pros and cons. It pays about $75/hr on the higher side. What the lady told me was that post retirement, some corporate execs do teach at two or three to augment income. I ended up not pursuing the opportunity
That's what she told me - I haven't done a lot of research myself. This was in NY
Money was not the reason in my case - schedule was the larger problem for me. I was not planning to teach as a real source of income
Yeah I’ve taught a few classes at my local university mba and other ms programs.. I’d say it’s generally rewarding but it’s also a ton of work, unreliable, and the pay is quite low. Also it’s extremely stressful the first few times when you get student evals and other comments on your materials. You learn to just accept the good with the bad, but some students can be ruthless. The work wasn’t steady either at least for me as they would decide to just drop a class or switch around the schedule with limited notice. Best way to start is to befriend another adjunct, talk about their experience and see about guest lecturing for a day. This will at least give you a flavor for the role. They pay around $3k for a 3 credit course, seems to depend on the course and max enrollment. Another benefit is they offered discounted tuition for my kids. We never used it (my kids wanted to go somewhere else and also you never know when you might not get called back to teach), but that could be of value for some people. Maybe just my experience, but coming from the top of an org, i found it very humbling. Adjuncts are not treated very well in terms of perks. For example we had the worst parking spots, the worst offices, we don’t get adequate funding for TAs, etc. i was making my own copies for the class hand outs, etc :)
I pay my housekeeper more than that 😀

Interesting
Expect pay to be modest relative to the time you'll put in. People generally do it for engagement first, comp after that. Between grad and UG, I'd probably opt for grad.
I have taught adjunct steadily for the past ten years and prior to that off and on for another ten.
If you have a specific school you want to teach at, I would connect early on with the dean of the business program and talk about your interest and experience so you can be positioned when the time comes. Then you need to pick a course you want to teach and teach it somewhere first, including online, so you have some experience. I have some vague recollection that Big 4 is strict about this but maybe you can work around it creatively, e.g. do it somewhere for free (I don’t remember what the actual conflict is) or co teach with someone else. You also want to get student evaluations so you can submit that.
Ideally you have at least two classes you are willing to teach because more likely than not, you’ll make it into the adjunct pool and they’ll call you when they need you. The hard part is always the first run of any course where you are developing all of it and getting the kinks of delivery out, so pick specific classes that you will want to teach for years.
As someone else said, it’s basically no money per 3-4 credit class. I have taught them for $2k as well as $10k. You can cobble together a full time load across multiple colleges but it’s a labor of love.
