like

7 or 8 weeks paid if I remember correctly for parental leave. Would have to looked into the others

The seems so low.

What was your old firm?

Anytime I see less than 3 months paid, I think that firm has catching up to do

Hi all. I am joining an AmLaw100 firm in June. I’m coming from a non traditional route to a firm (Banking regulatory compliance). Billable/collection hours are 1900. I have a kid on the way due late September. Would like to make sure my wife and kid are stable. I plan to tell the firm on Tuesday. Not sure of any formal parental policy. Any thoughts about how to best communicate it? Should I be worried about that impacting billable requirements? How is this most commonly handled in the industry?

Hi my newborn baby has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia by pediatrician and I have an appointment next week with the orthopedic. Most likely it’s going to be a harness. My wife and I need a break. Had our first baby in March and we are worn out (getting better) but very tired. Wife said to me “I need us time”, and she’s never said that in the 3 years we’ve been married. Suggestions on getaways or things to do?

I have a dear friend whose mother just passed from diabetes. She was on government assistance. Didn’t own a home. Had upwards of 60k in medical bills. Yesterday alone he received 7k in new bills

I’m at the point that I start trembling every time I get an email alert. It’s the little things piling up that is getting to me. The to do list full of, “send emails to X about Y,” “follow-up re this,” “revise the 100 small things the baby lawyer drafted.” Tasks that might take 15 minutes to an hour individually, but all together it’s a lot. I’m the bottle neck. I’m the one who needs to move these things along. But there’s always something bigger and more urgent. Nothing’s ever FINISHED.

Do you have any recommendations for baby carriers - specifically for bigger babies? We have a baby bjorn, boba wrap, and ergobaby embrace, but it feels like they are getting small / tight for my big baby boy. For reference, he is already over 18lbs at 4mos. Would love something that would be comfy for him but also distributes weight well, as he will only get heavier 🤪 Thank you in advance!
