Definitely more opportunities here in Toronto. And WAY less boring lol.
I agree with this. THere are WAY more things to do in my opinion.
Oh yeah, moved from Vancouver to Toronto several years ago. Definitely miss the great outdoor in Vancouver especially if you are into skiing and hiking. You will not find anything similar here in Toronto unless you fly to Europe and stuff. But career wise, it’s much better here.
Waiting to move back. Just hope there were enough job opportunities in consulting so I needn't have moved
I made the opposite move from Toronto to Vancouver. Vancouver is a nice place from a natural beauty and weather perspective (weather is subjective; I like cloudy and rainy winters over cold and slushy but I know people that hate the weather in Vancouver as well). It's a decent place for pretty much decent at everything, and really extraordinary for outdoors activity (especially skiing and snowboarding is top notch and super accessible) but it's very obviously a much smaller and much more cut-off/isolated place than Toronto in my opinion.
I find overall Toronto has way more opportunity from a career perspective, night life is incomparable, restaurant scene is leaps and bounds above Vancouver, etc. It feels much more alive and buzzing with more going on on any given weekend.
I've been in Vancouver for 2 years now and I've adapted/made some friends here, but it's only a matter of time until I go back. I still like it in Vancouver and it's a fine city, but I don't find it fits with my career ambitions and what I want out of life.
If i were you, I'd take the leap and see what happens. It's not a move you can't undo if you decide it's not for you.
I love Vancouver but now living in Toronto has made me live a little. AD1 is right, Toronto is a little less boring.
