Doing extra is the outlier. Most people doing extra don’t think about the cost of not doing the next thing instead.
Don’t do extra. Do your job correctly.
Where are you today?
11. Don’t go into advertising.
Hahaha yup. Get into plumbing
Good ol American hustle mentality lol eating your main and desserts should be part of “doing” you should not be doing extra for a dessert. “Doing extra” is not a good one. Also way to go VP to think that new grads don’t think much of themselves…twisted approach to giving advice lol
"crabs in a barrel" starter pack tips. You do all of these things, and get perfect performance reviews, and still be in the first round of layoffs, which is the lessons young ppl are actually learning. Younger ppl DGAF because they are lazy, they see the system for what it is, and throttle their levels of "participation" accordingly IMO
Also - don’t impress me by sitting in a chair. I care less about the clock and the hours - it’s the outputs that matter. Do good work, never miss a deadline and be a fun person that people enjoy working with. That’s all that matter

Yup. Output and impact are all that matter.
Show me an agency worried about butts in seats and I’ll show you an agency in creative/ financial trouble.
I try to do all of things and I’ve been laid off twice in a year! Maybe this list is cropped and I’m missing a few more. What are they?
I would say all of these are dependent on how you are treated as an employee. Putting a company’s management mishaps on the employees, while lacking incentive to accommodate, is not worthy of my best efforts.
You can’t just ask for these. It’s a relationship. I think Gen Z gets this and it’s why they aren’t sold on working hard as a default, which is a good thing. This is assuming the worst of course, but just saying respect is earned.
I don't think that any of these traits is a problem for me .I think the problem is that I have to deal with the wrong people and with an industry which is in a deep crisis

Being on time is overrated
Rising Star
What’s on time in advertising? People get in around 9:30 10. And if you’re remote, what’s on time? It’s an outdated concept
1, 2, 3, 6, 8 and 10 alone will set you apart dramatically from the rest. The bar is very low (for a multitude of reasons, of course).
"please! by all means, exploit yourself!" - ancient proverb
To all the seasoned vets regretting your careers and feeling like nothing is worth contributing, please make a copy of this and put it somewhere easily accessible so you can roll it up and use it to do a couple bumps of coke.
10 things that take 0 effort, but will get you 100% fired:
1. Pooping on company time and doing a couple cheeky bumps of coke in the toilet stall
2. Work hypothetic (by thinking about working but not actually, just taking a couple of cheeky bumps in the toilet stall)
3. Effort to prioritize doing a couple of cheeky bumps of coke in the toilet stall
4. Bodily fluids (spilling them outside of the designated restroom area after doing more than a couple cheeky bumps of coke)
5. Energy (drinks, mixed with a couple of cheeky bumps of coke)
6. Attitude (may vary depending on the comedown from the couple cheeky bumps of coke)
7. Passion of being high from the couple cheeky bumps of coke
8. Being cokeable (ability to do a couple cheeky bumps of coke)
9. Doing extra (coke)
10. Being prepared (to secure coke for the office happy hour)
You need help.
Number 8 is so underrated
