Yes, this is a VERY common practice now (I’m an employment attorney advising clients on this).

Interesting… and what about the potential risk for discrimination, like for people with a medical certificate that they can’t receive vaccinations or maybe on some religious grounds? A “necessity of the role” type of defence in case of any discrimination lawsuits?
Usually there is a process to get an exception as a reasonable accommodation for people unable to be vaccinated due to disability/sincerely held religious beliefs. Companies differ significantly in how to handle that though. United Airlines made headlines this week by announcing that people who sought religious-based exemptions from their mandatory vaccine policy would be placed on unpaid leave. That is an aggressive approach but obviously they are comfortable with it.
