Today I was really feeling the burnout. Endless meetings, emails, messages, problems. How am I supposed to keep doing this until I'm 65? For those of you more seasoned career veterans, how are you doing it without going insane?

I'm not. I mean I'm doing it, just very much going insane 😂. On the bright side, if I play my cards right, I should only have to do it 'til about 55 or so. Woohoo.

Clearly, you need to start making a plan!

I’ve had that exact thought too — like, there’s no way I can keep doing this pace forever.

From what I’ve seen, the people who last don’t just power through. They switch roles, set better boundaries, or stop caring about every single fire. The work changes over time and so do they!

Yeah same here, dying a little inside every day. Not sure what I was thinking choosing a career when I should have been focused on marrying a man with oil money.

Then you'll end up being nothing more than a decorative vase, girl.

I think about this all the time

Not sure if this is possible, but my solution is to keep my living expenses as low as possible.

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?

Hello all! I am looking for a job in finance/investments, but I’m having trouble attracting attention from employers. I have a finance degree from UGA, but all of my experience (3.5 years) is in sales (tech and real estate), so no relevant internships unfortunately. Any advice on how to market myself better and where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated!

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?
