Truthfully, how much do you milk your hours in your time sheet for FDD

People are going to say that they dont do it, but they 100% do. No one tracks down to the minute the hours they work. People round up, maybe they round up by 15 minutes every day but that quickly turns into 60-70 additional hours billed at the end of the year (assuming only one deal at a time). Most people I know round to the nearest hour, which can sometimes be as much as 30 mins. That gets you to 100+ additional hours billed at the end of the year.

This is the shitty part about being in Rx - we have to track ours to the tenth of an hour if on a BK deal so very hard to “round up”

It all depends on the engagement, but I always bill the maximum that I can get away with.

Milk hours? Most managers are eating hours to make up for seniors’ incompetence. It’s impossible to meet budgets with how high our bill rates are

like

Managers also don’t spend anytime actually training those below them. You’d be surprised how resourceful some seniors can be to get stuff done by asking around

director here, depending on the deal I round up or down. I tell staff to charge actual hours, we can discount it on the back end if high. if staff overcharge fake hours it really fucks me haha, I track pretty closely and haven't noticed anything egregious. if I do I will talk to them directly and get an understanding. Way overcharging would make you look bad; I'll think you're either slow/don't get it or inefficient. undercharging just gives partners unrealistic expectations and they will keep underbidding to win work, which fucks me another way

😭 people have to milk some of it man, it’s hard to believe these numbers sometimes

Give and take. Often you eat hours.

Reorgs are just a part of the corporate world. If you haven’t been a part of one in your career yet, then you most likely haven’t been in the corporate workforce for very long. If you have been a part of a reorg, however, how do you personally approach it? There are many factors at play, but in general do you try to establish relationships with the individuals you know will be key contributors and/or decision makers going forward? Or do you lay low and let what ever happens be/hope for the best?
