I thought M&A tax would satisfy me creatively. Definitely better than core tax work but I can’t keep doing this sht. I need to start my own business. Who’s with me?

I saw director at M&A tax starting his own business

F&B

Go for it!!

I think about leaving it all to start my own business often! I actually love the work in M&A tax but the perpetual grind is rough.

Love the entrepreneurial spirit in this thread. Also in M&A Tax and would love to go into something on my own but honestly have no idea what I would do, no original product ideas and don’t love the idea of an accounting practice or something related.

Asking for my girlfriend. She has 3 years of experience doing service desk type work and really enjoys being in IT. But is unhappy with her current pay (under 55k). Does anyone have any IT role recommendations that would be a logical pivot for her to make that could lead to higher compensation? Or potentially IT support companies that pay more competitively?

Could be a silly question — i am beginning to look for a new apartment in the city and ideally want to rent from private landlords rather than going thru Apartment People / @ Properties / Compass, etc. How do you find private landlords?! I have good credit and am very clean! A landlord would love me lol

My in-laws used to own a jewelry store, and they had this Omega quartz watch in their storage. I can understand why this wasn’t sold during their clearance sale lol. I had no idea Omega made stuff like this in 1987! I guess they couldn’t help it after the rise of quartz watches in the 70s to 80s. I doubt they’re worth anything even to this day. I see them on eBay for $700-1200, so who knows…

Currently completing my first year as Senior in Audit and its become pretty apparent that going through the whole manager pipeline isn't really what I'd like to do. Looking to explore options and would like to hear some real time figures, especially CF/MA and TAS - as I'm looking to make the pivot to IB hopefully in the future.

Thanks
