Keeping the package aside, which company is better in terms of growth, hikes, work-life balance?
Please share your inputs, its my first switch so I'm anxious about making the right choice. 😅

Have seen people do it and be successful even as young SMs.
I spoke to a partner at KPMG who switched to FDD at the senior manager level.
I did it as an M1. Easy transition and would highly recommend.

I think it all comes down to attitude when you come in. As an audit manager or senior manager you’re used to spending all your time reviewing work and managing teams and spend almost no time rolling up your sleeves and building stuff in excel. When you come in, you’ll keep your title but you’ll have to spend a period of time acting as a much more junior person taking point for building out data books and doing analysis in excel - for some that role reversion can be an ego hit. Excel skills can also be an issue.
Coach
Crowe 1 - my comments are specific to people who come in at M or above. Senior transition is typically fine
What can I do to ease transition and be successful? Any learnings courses suggestions? I heard the skill set is very different from accounting advisory

To be fair tho - a very green new hire manager is likely to get put on large deals with large teams with SMs above them to learn from.

I know someone who switched midway through their m3 year and got promoted to SM that same year.
For those that transferred as managers or know of of manager transfer, was it before or during the COVID craziness?
