Can’t relocate. Can’t switch to commercial bc travel. I have a solid resume and skill set just not sure where to take it in this area. Tons of jobs I’d be qualified for just none in this area that wouldn’t be govt-adjacent and I’m sick of govt work. Hospitals too.
I’m a GU grad and a couple of my friends from school recently went to nestle since they reloed their hq to the area. Also I hear good things about Marriott. Also try searching LinkedIn for remote jobs, they just released that search feature.
So what about all those companies you listed?
Not telling anyone about if i did :)
been struggling with this for years, friend. it really sucks cuz I love the DC area otherwise.
I’m considering writing to recruiters on LinkedIn and being like “hey i know this is a stretch but i saw this role online and I’m way over here in DC. Are you open to a candidate who travels in for the role?” or something.
If I could like GIS map all these LinkedIn job postings based on location on a map there’d be HUGE chunks over NYC, SF area. Even Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Boston, Chicago, and Raleigh.
DC would have nothing. Plenty of jobs for what I do. But nobody does what I do in DC. No appetite for it in govt.
The struggle is real, same boat as well in DC. All the good jobs are elsewhere or the data jobs in DC misrepresent what they are and the role itself.
@SC Op, do you know of anyone or heard anything about working at Audi/Hilton/Nestle?
