Trying to evaluate the amount of supplies that will need to be ordered to have adequate backups in case of ordering complications or delays - have you ever over or underestimated your supplies and how long did it take to recover? Of course, the setting you work in can greatly influence your answer but I am curious about your methodology and response to these issues in general.

It depends on the size of your company. If you have a smaller company, taking fewer risks is prudent. What do you currently do to forecast demand? That's one of the most important parts of the process.

It's hard to answer because our ordering system is based on years of need for our office, so we have been keeping track of orders that are too much or too little for years and years. I recommend keeping dedicated notes and passing along information to your superiors/inferiors in order to build up a knowledge base of what your office will need.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.

I worked at two different food delivery companies with nearly polarized cultures. One was transparent and collaborative, allowing ideas to come from anywhere in the organization. The other was very secretive, and you could only focus on what you were assigned to do. In your opinion, what defines a great company culture?
