McKinsey & Company Career advice needed. Thanks in advance. What would be a potential feasible path to make the transition from Big Four assurance role to MBB consulting role? I have 1 year experience in industry as FP&A and couple months as fund accountant before I graduated from school and went to Big four as IT auditor and could switch to core auditor ,cybersecurity or ECG advisory etc. I’ll get the CPA and CFA soon and have some basic coding skillsets. Considering to do MBA/graduate degree if necessary. McKinsey & Company PwC Deloitte

No, but a week after I started working there, the boss found out that they were creating a union and the work environment went down the drain. I think it's a bit of a difficult situation to handle and definitely neither side acted assertively.
I am from Latin America and we have a somewhat complicated perception of unions. I have seen companies go bankrupt when they approve a union, because workers refuse to work and spend many working hours managing union things. So in my case, I wouldn't do it.
I have also thought the same thing, but I would recommend you to consult a good lawyer to know how you can benefit and how to do it without generating a negative response from the management.
Unions can be highly beneficial provided that the people leading them actually have the best interests of the rest of the workers at heart
There are a lot of benefits to being in a union, but it's something you need to be really cautious about looking into because it would dictate the way salaries were awarded as well as the specifics of different job duties. So it's really an all-or-nothing thing. Not saying that it's bad, just that you need to do a lot of research before you will know if it's right for you or not
That's not as simple a task as you might assume, starting a union is a huge ordeal and you would probably be better off joining one that is already in existence. That way you would be more likely to have your rights protected in the case of a strike or contract renegotiations
Don't know if if would be beneficial for you or not, it really depends on your specific situation. How big your company is, the average length of employment for your organization vs. any competing businesses, etc. Most places will be more hesitant to work with a company that is recently unionized because they are still figuring out the ropes and that leads to some dicey legal issues as far as labor contracts and such
This is so much easier said than done. The tiniest hint that we might be discussing it and things go south fast. "Union" is the worst curse word you could utter around here and the best way to get yourself fired.
