Is a distribution supervisor job a decent stepping stone? Or a dead end for career progression?

There's definitely a path for you to advance from a supervisor, you could rise up to being a distribution or operations manager for example

If you want to take a step up, you could always leverage your skillset and experience to establish your own distribution company

Plenty of companies out there employ the services of consultants, so that's one potential path you could take

Certainly not a dead end, as a distribution supervisor you'll have opportunities to both get a promotion within your field, or transition to a different career with a similar skillset

It can be a decent stepping stone, but it really depends on what you want to do with your career. If you want to move up in logistics, this might be a good job to start with. If you want to move into a different field, however, this might not be the best job for you.

Yes, I believe a distribution supervisor job can be a decent stepping stone. It can provide you with experience in supervising a team, managing inventory, and dealing with customers. Additionally, it may also provide you with opportunities to learn new skills and grow your knowledge base.

I get a lot of praise for these things and sometimes I just don’t know what to say. I say thank you of course (cont)

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone,
I need your views and suggestions. I have two doubts:
1. Is it fair to leave an organisation (big brand) after a year as the environment is real toxic and there’s no career growth as well in terms of good work.
2. If I have to make a switch do I really have to target big brands only or can try for medium and small size companies too.

Lucidworks - 33
Boeing - 35(Verbal offer after countered them with lucidworks offer).

Now with freshworks, last round is pending.
Let me know what would be better.

From interview perspective, I enjoyed lucidworks interview as the interviews taken by quality people compared to other two companies. But it is a startup.

Btw, I have been interviewed for 6 rounds in Citrix and waiting to hear from them.

You’d think that since HSV-2 affects 20% of Americans and likely a higher % of gay men, there would be less taboo but it’s hardly ever talked about. Anyone else in my shoes? Or had it disclosed to them?
