The police? Really? Your management should just fire them and move on.
I’d absolutely not say a single thing to building security or the police. What does behavior in the office have to do with getting caught together in a public restroom anyway? If they want that info I’d refer them to your firm’s legal and HR department. You have zero upside here. Don’t do it.
Thanks for your thought on this
Cackling at this thread 😂
I agree it's a little weird to involve the police over this, but since you’re asked to report on their behavior, it’s important to stick to the facts and your observations. Document everything accurately, but be careful about assumptions. If you’re unsure about any legal implications, it might be worth consulting a legal advisor before submitting your report.
Can we please ban this AI bot I’m begging
The last sentence in your post is pretty important. Did HR know they were also together? Did you know and HR didn’t know? Were they working on the same exact project together did you oversee them on separate projects? In any case, I would recommend two things: 1, be honest and transparent but don’t say more than you need to. 2, brush up on your firm’s code of conduct and relationship reporting requirements.
And don’t answer yes to any “were you aware” questions involving their relationship or other activities. Hearing it from others or suspecting is not knowing. It can definitely get you in trouble for being aware and not telling anyone though.
Sexual? Same sex? Different sex?
Why do you get to say that word but OP is not allowed to say the word?
I would say that I haven’t seen anything prior to this incident. Nothing comes to mind that I’ve ever noticed. I never seen them act in an unprofessional manner and I’m shocked this happened. Regardless of whether those statements are true or not, I wouldn’t want management to come back to me later and try to suggest that I missed something that could have prevented this. I’m assuming they were fired so anything you may or may not have noticed in the past is irrelevant at this point.
Wrong answer. Don’t even open your mouth.
Let me guess, this is in a conservative red state?
What they did was unethical and not illegal. I am assuming they were hooking up in the rest room. They shouldn't be arrested because sex is not illegal but it is unethical so they can be sacked
I'd not say a word. Other than directly about their work performance. If they were on their own time breaks etc. It's inappropriate but I don't think it's truly illegal more gross.
Maybe they were working 12 hour days and they only romance/dates they could find were in the workplace
II don't see how you knowing they they were together before implicates you in any way in this. My husband and I worked at the same firm for 4 years, Obviously we were "together", but also obviously (i think) we never did anything like this. being "together" doesn't mean you're going to be wildly inappropriate. You had no way to predict that.
