In my ideal world? Two. Start with 2 and have it blown out enough with solid reasoning behind your choices.

In my experience, it really depends who I’m laddering up to for the project and how much of a pain they are when going through the next steps. I’ve had every situation from myself being the final visual say that the CCO trusted to an agency’s president insisting on picking out breaker slide images from a huge deck of options.
