I can get behind this.
It doesn't matter the date. They are definitely going to layoff A LOT of people. It's just a matter of time. Try to get to a small agency that actually does creative work because Omnicom is about to make everything trash really. Hopefully small agencies can retain creative and good projects can go to them and omnicom and the giants can handle the trash banners.
Working brand side, I've noticed that clients are opting for multiple agencies to work on a project basis vs retainer. It's so inefficient but saves some pennies. And then the in-house team has to fix it when things feel totally disjointed.
Let’s all just quit that day and save them the effort. Sink this ship of white leadership please
SVP 1. Have you looked around you lately and not tell me people at your table are “…”. That the leadership isn’t run by a bunch of “…” that promote other “…”. And pay other non”…” a horrible salary and no bonus while reserving bonuses for the “…”
There… did you the favor and didn’t mention white in the reply above.

Makes sense. A few of those decision makers were probably there
Not sure? I just got a 35% pay rise though! So maybe some people will get the bump too
What Manager 1 said six days. But seriously congrats on the increase and know that not everyone thinks it doom and gloom out there. I don’t. It’s an ever changing, especially now, job marketplace.Be adaptable. My two cents! Happy Holidays, people
So my department has rolling layoffs until April, but management already told said names. They already know who is affected by x date.
Perhaps this isn’t how it’s happening for other departments as they are still deciding on the names?
For my case (my comment), they only alerted said person(s) privately and they shared with the others that “there were some affected until end of Q1, but we will let them decide if they want to share that with you”
My department is small-ish and some let me know on the side, some didn’t.
Overall I’d say I’m happy with this kind of process.
Press article said they would be done by the end of December. However, my theory is that they’re going to do some in January because vacation time does not roll over so any accrued vacation time, if people didn’t take it, become zero in January and they don’t have to do any vacation payouts when they do termination and severance.
Employee Handbook was updated last year. NO unused vacation time was paid out to those laid off in the merger. Nothing is rolling over for people still employed. Omnicom changed the severance formula to 1 week per year with a cap at 12 years.
Jan 6th will be the exits for more senior folks. (i.e. "presidents, Managing partners, chief creative officers of smaller offices/divisions, , etc..." of the IPG companies and then they'll be a transition period where they will phase out. The needed those people to appear like they were still "in charge" the first part of the acquisition and probably made them do all the mass layoffs but now they will go to, probably over the course of a few months.
I'm sure it will be because they couldn't care less about their employees. They like to toot themselves as this magnificent neuro-center of technology, meanwhile they can't even stream a town hall without some kind of glitch that knocks them off-line.
They are still laying off folks here in the US. I know someone from MB L&D team who was impacted and informed today.
This place is becoming more and more demotivating and stressful. Can they not just communicate in 1 go rather than doing these in rounds. Don’t want to go into the holidays with so much stress and uncertainty.
I’ve seen a few posts mentioning this but haven’t heard anything concrete. Has anyone heard this directly from senior leadership at their agency?
I’m part of legacy IPG Health and in an agency that’s been consistently winning new business. Our manager has assured us we won’t get cut since we’re incredibly billable. Honestly, I’m still not so sure. Billable or not, I feel like everyone at IPG is fair game. I like my job, I like my team, and I like my hours. I don’t like the idea of leaving a job that’s been great for me, but I don’t like the idea of passing an opportunity in the hopes I don’t get chopped then get bitten in the ass.
And even a new job seems shaky. Employment everywhere feels tenuous now.
That would track.
