Was not asked to do a drug test upon starting the role, and I'm wondering are they going to randomly test me when I don't expect it? Smoke a little weed, don't want to give that up.

Look at your job description. It will say whether they drug test. The only other way it happens is if your work is effected.

You might also be subject to “post-accident” testing if you drive for work at all.

It is still not authorized nor recognized for federal employment.

Correct. But it is usually not a deterrent for a security clearance.

When joining the US Government, be prepared for a drug test as part of the onboarding process. If it's not conducted initially, be aware that random selections for drug tests are common practice, especially within the Department of Defense (DoD). Your call and good luck!

All the Government new positions require a drug test before EOD - entry on duty. Drug test are at random for all Gov employees at any time— off to the Pentagon you go. I would recommend to give up your habit or your will loose your job and your Security Clearance, Too much of a risk to take. And will follow you wherever you go! No employer will take you at that point.

Honestly it shouldn’t even be legal. What you do off work hours is no one’s business but your own

Keep a detox ready and handy. ;)

Once you’ve applied via referral link to a position, does it keep you in a referral pool or do you need to constantly get a new referral link if you apply to another role say 4 months later? Curious since they only last 30 days and i feel bad asking for a link a 3rd time now…..
