I don't think there's any way of knowing how any of this chaos will play out. Elon and his gang are losing in the courts, but they're also apparently not following court orders to rehire people. So things are just going to keep getting more confused and a lot of people are having their lives turned upside down. No doubt a good time to wait to see how the dust settles.

like

yeah this is literally unprecedented times so I'd say no

It’s looking pretty bad. Would wait a bit for some of the initial chaos to stop at least.

Yeah. After all the cuts they will probably start hiring again. Always good to get in at the ground floor.

I get why you'd feel that way, government roles can be unpredictable, especiallyyy right now. While some data roles might be affected, there’s still demand in areas like cybersecurity, public health data, and economic analysis. It could just take a bit more time and persistence to land the right role!

LOL, they just eliminated cybersecurity and public health data. No more cyber operations, and the public health data is being "fixed" to correspond to our Theocracy's norm.

Unless it’s for DOGE.

The only data roles in this administration will be to "fix" data the way the administration wants it to be (ie no testing data on bird flu, measles, so there won't be any outbreaks, DOGE reports of inflated savings, etc) The only other "data" positions are Elmo's DOGE twinkies.

Good morning all I hope all is well. So I'm currently a Computer Engineer (Glorified Help desk support) for the MGM Resorts International Corporate IT office here in Vegas.

I currently have a Bachelor's in Computer Science but want to be Cloud Security Engineer. I'm debating whether to go for second bachelors at WGU in Cybersecurity while self studying Cloud certifications, or doing the Cloud Computing while self studying Cybersecurity certifications. Or just go Masters with IT concentration.

How easy is it to work in account management in a foreign country? which countries are the easiest to go to? what agencies are likely to transfer you abroad?

I work for a small agency and manage our internal marketing acct. We had very few processes in place when I started. I’ve since created, implemented, and trained our dept. on project mgmt for clients and am trying to convince the owner to apply those principles to our internal jobs. They are resistant because they just want the work to be done and don’t “want to keep spending money on internal jobs”. I’m confused because we’re doing the work either way and “spending” in labor/resources.

Hi! Does anyone know what kind of knowledge is needed to crack the Data Scientist interview at Google?

I'm currently working in Marketing Analytics (primarily using SQL and a bit of pyspark). Apart from mastering SQL, I wanted to know from people working at Google what does it take to get there as a Data Scientist? (I'm very interested in Strategy Ops)

I plan to another 6-8 months in preparation and upskilling myself before I even apply.
Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks :)
