No, because in this case it's modeling the style of a letter - you wouldn't write "Dear, name" but "Dear name,".
True, it is more comparable to "greetings" and therefore should technically be followed by comma, name: ... It is more of a common practice thing. But English is a dynamic language with no official governing body, so common practice tends to eventually become the correct way. While incorrect from a technical standpoint, I would find it odd to receive an email that started as "Hi, name:" I think it also has to do with the informality of the word "hi". Anyway haha, I have nerded out enough this morning. 😂

It should be that technically but that doesn’t matter.
Same thing for people misusing I vs me e.g. “they promoted Bob and me.” People will swear it should be I.

Yes that’s right and i feel like people always mess it up in the example I noted. Worse is when they try to correct someone who said it correctly!
