Generally either build up specific expertise in a high-priority area (network within your target office to find out what those are), or demonstrate that you've done something impressive in addition to excelling at work (built a startup in your spare time etc.).

It will probably be assumed that you applied to MBB when you applied to your current job but didn't make it, so you need to demonstrate that during these years something has changed to now make you a stronger candidate.

My dilemma… I am an injury adjuster at a carrier experiencing high inventory that’s barely manageable. A competitor offered a higher salary and manageable workload. BUT, I would like to get into underwriting. I applied for UW position w/ a different carrier and they’ve made an offer. It’s lower than my current salary and significantly lower than what I’d make by taking the first offer. Do I take the high salary and stay in claims or go for UW in hopes it will be best in long run?

Hi all,

Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both
KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.

Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.

Thanks!
