Welps, today I got news that the tech start up I joined tapped out of its runway. Quite a disappointment since I literally had a convo with them last week and months prior over and over they reassured me they were ok with a runway. Why lie? Why kill someone's livelihood. Anyways, onwards and upwards. Its just another reminder that loyalty makes no sense especially since companies will drop you in the blink of an eye!

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

Is there any difference in WLB between T1 and T2 consulting firms (in the Toronto offices)? For example, On average, do T2 consultants work/ travel the same amount as T1 consultants in a given year?

I’ve been lay off this afternoon because low performance, it just two weeks ago I talked to my manager and told her that she’s micromanaging me a lot and I need more autonomy at my work. I didn’t like what they’ve done to me specially I’ve been redundant from the previous role before joining this company. I cannot sleep please any plan’ action and what to answer for the reason why you leave your company? I’ve been in 3 jobs for the last 2 years.

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭
