The “best place to work” Orrick is 3+ days in office with no office space in many cities

A7 I took OP’s question to mean “which firms are still at 2-3 days aka not pushing for 4-5 and being dicks about it.” I’m also at Kirkland and can confirm that while the policy is technically 3 days, in practice it’s basically unenforced. You can’t be actually fully remote without special approval but if you come to the office like a few times a month you’re probably fine. May vary by group.

McDermott is 1.5 a week on average

lol why? 1.5 days is better than a lot of other firms

A&P just went up to 3 days in January, previously they were only 50% of the month, they’ve been reasonable about it

Maybe for staff but definitely not attorneys

I think it probably depends somewhat on your role as well. I find some firms that are otherwise sticklers on their RTO policy have flexibility for counsel and other roles.

Why do many associates at top tier firms stay to make Partner when they can go in-house in tech and make around the same, even long term? For example, you can make near 400-550k in-house at Google, Netflix, FB with 8-10 years of exp. More senior than that in-house, it can easily break $1M.
