I think it's nonsensical, it's people trying to make comments from random people who are too online into some big societal issue. I don't think the ads were meant to be racist, I mean, that just seems obvious. But there's so much racist stuff online currently that I could understand people raising their eyebrows or thinking the pun was obnoxious.

That’s true.
It's silly IMO. I don't find it racist at all and think anyone who does it making a big logical leap. Hanlon's Razor seems appropriate here: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence". Not that I think the ad was created incompetently per se, it just doesn't feel malicious to me. Their marketing team saw an opportunity to make a pun. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don’t get it. How are people offended with that ad? I’m a plus sized woman of color and couldn’t less. I found the ad cheesy and the outfit ugly but that is it.
