Kind of thing that would be tinfoil hats at the start of his second term but now starting to feel "wouldn't put him past him"

Yeah, and you'll need to travel 50 miles and show 3 forms of ID to do so in person. Because to Republicans that's how a free and high functioning democracy works. (They can't win on policy or popularity, especially without the advent of another Trump like figure to lead the cult, so they need to rely on gaming the system to suppress voting)
The idea that voter ID laws are inherently racist or a form of voter suppression is honestly hard to take seriously. Nobody’s buying it and multiple polls have shown that 80 percent or more of Americans support requiring voter identification.
Registering to vote and voting are not the same thing.
