WPP SUCKS

Yeah, it really sucks.

Sorry, Omnicom is pretty bad, too.

Agree, and I work there.

I mean it's like calling out Burger King for trash food when they could disappear tomorrow and just be replaced with McDonald's, or Wendy's, or taco bell. I don't even blame them, I blame us for letting it exist.

They are all horrible in their own uniquely special way.

So far this has been conclusive.

In my experience at WPP, Interpublic and Omnicom, they all basically seem the same and have almost no impact on my job. How does one tell if they are working for a bad holding company?

Have you ever been told you were getting a raise while working at Publicis Groupe agency? It’s a complete disorganized nightmare.

Hahahahahaha yes

Too many cooks (in the c suite)

Can you tell me (Omnicom) why it’s so bad?

So you’re saying this conversation is just a giant circle jerk?

By the way, which is a good holding company to work under? Just so I know where to head?

Havas has been good to employees.

I've worked under Publicis, WPP and Interpublic. WPP was the worst in my experience.

I work in account management/client service at an ad agency and am trying to move into product in tech (management or marketing). Thinking I could do one step at a time (move into tech first or move into product first) but struggling to do either. I have had chats w/ Facebook and a local large tech company but they want app or Saas experience. Any advice? Unfortunately can’t afford to start entry level. I just started grad school part-time too but haven’t had enough classes to help switch.

My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!

How long do you typically allow for self assessments and manager assessments for year-end? This year we gave employees a week and managers 3 weeks (holidays not included), but they still said it wasn’t long enough even though most waited until the very last day to complete them.

I have no idea how to get motivated again. I am a legit zombie that sits and types for hours and hours without talking to anyone. I feel like a shell of a person. And nobody in management cares about any associates well being in this remote environment. I’m a person who likes to talk about things, but I am well aware that nobody in management would even want to actually do anything to help. Is anyone else feeling the same?
