Whats’s the ideal CV length for UK mid-level roles (4-5 YoE) to engage recruiters?

Is 1 page containing punchy & concise XYZ points preferred in the UK over 2 pages inc. a bit more details of projects/ tasks?

If I apply online (without referral) and don’t get a response or get rejected immediately, does that count towards waiting 6-12mos to apply again?

I applied to one of the roles and after initial screening I happened to see in the website that there are no suitable openings for my profile.

I heard that the cool off period is six months. Does that apply to my situation because I didn't attend any interview.

Can I use referals to apply before 6 months? Or should I wait for 6 more months?

I recently interviewed for a small strat consulting company (energy industry). I have 3 YoE and would be moving from engineering. the HR person asked me what my salary expectations were I was caught offguard and said I would expect it to be at least what I make now (around 100k). Im now worried theyll lowball me because I really shouldve asked for 120+bonus (I think this is market rate?) But they have salary bands they follow right?So if they pay consultants 140 usually would they offer me 100k?

How do I become an MBB employee? Is it possible to gain experience at big 4+ACN and then get referred in??

Hi all, I got selected with CGI and got confirmation email of final selection on 2 Feb and been requested to send few documents. I did the same day and been waiting for offer letter since then. Everytime I reach out to hiring manager( on weekly basis), they tell it's waiting for clients approval. How long does the offer letter issue usually takes?

Follow up etiquette help needed! I am expecting a job offer at firm one next week or so. I am into the final phases at firm two. Would it be appropriate to email my recruiter from firm one that they are my preference but I’m far along in the process at firm two and ask for an update on where I stand (to hopefully get an offer faster)? I’m looking for some advice and/or to vent a little. I’ve been looking for a sales job specifically to pivot into tech sales and I’m getting rejected non stop and it’s really starting to weigh on me and ruin my confidence.

The positives are, I’m actually getting interviews- about 5 so far, I get to the later/last rounds but can’t seem to close the deal. I’ve tried learning from each experience, and taking that as growth for the next interview but it hasn’t worked.

Had an Excel assessment yesterday as the second to last step in an interview process. I was using a new computer and long story short, had some technical difficulties (or maybe just my own incompetence under stress) and ended up only getting through half of the test. I’m on the fence about emailing my recruiter and explaining the circumstances/asking for a retest. Enrolled in Stern for a few weeks.
The number of the alumni and current students that go to top consulting firms FT& summer intern are countless even for a small class size.
Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)

Hi all. I'm looking for t15 mba programs that are "fun" and really enable their students to get to know each other well. I'm making an assumption that schools close to a big city (e.g. NYC, LA, Chi) are more likely to fit this criteria and therefore considering applying to only Booth, Kellogg, Stern, CBS, Anderson.

Are there other schools that come to mind that I should be seriously considering as well? Tough to find online research on this topic. (Note: not considering h/s/w cuz competition)

I am not that smart. Got a very low score on ACT (below average). Should I even consider getting a MBA? My firm does offer sponsorship, but taking/studying for GMAT/GRE is already stressing me out.

Don't own a personal laptop; always use my work laptop for everything. I see people recommending Dell XPS or Lenovo Thinkpad but do you really need that for school? My plan was to just get a run of the mill laptop to use for excel and ppt...what else do i need it for?
