No one ever talks about Westlaw AI. It’s actually pretty good. And it can’t possibly hallucinate cases.

like

It has safeguards but it absolutely still can, you can just tell more easily because it won't link to them. And it's regularly off on case details, especially outside of federal appellate level decisions.

Legal search: Surprisingly, Lexis AI. I've been a westlaw devotee since 1L but damn lexis actually did it and made a product that blows the Westlaw version out of the water. Still subject to the same weaknesses as WL, but it's much, much better integrated

Lexis Protege. Only used it once thus far to be help draft a new concept and it did a good job.

Sure I just started a new job as a project coordinator in January .
It my first job in clinical trials technology position prior to this I was in dentistry for 32 years and it’s taking me a lot to learn all the ins and outs of data analysis and some of the tech talk.
I’m very grateful to have the position because it took me 2 years to find a job! I just wish I could perform better and know my job a little more intimately.

What is your understanding of the norms around whose names end up on a brief/complaint/motion papers etc.? I’m a midlevel at an AmLaw 20 firm and have twice been the principal drafter of something only to be cut from the signature block. The associate senior to me is on it despite having done far less of the work. And it’s not because it required a rewrite or something. The filed product is 80-90% my work. Am I wrong to be pissed off about this?

Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)
