Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Transaction Analytics (assuming you mean Deal Analytics) is basically Topline (Revenue / ARR) analysis we do on targets or potential selling companies (this applies to TMT mostly) because on consumer side of things they work with GM so Revenue and Cost as well. It’s kind of a attached work process with FDD and we support their work. As you may / may not know FDD only works with TB level detail but we will generally we will get historical customer level data with all the details as they are applicable and can be provided as a first step. Next we will review the data, push it through our analytics tools (Alteryx for ETL of data and put into our visual tools for cuts of retention on various things. Sometimes just high level at customer level and sometimes deeper into products and other variable factors as applicable for the business. Our main focuses are (1) what is ARR - annual recurring revenue, (2) what is driving the growth in ARR / the business, (3) what has retention been like historically and currently (4) other factors needed to be diligences as as required by our clients.
This is great! Thank you for being so thorough. Are these basically diligence sprints? What would the role of a manager vs a junior consultant have for example. Also do you travel?

Are you talking transactions as in deals, or transactions as in consumer behavior? Two different animals
