The crazy hours.

Yes, I came out of school a long time ago, and times were different / I would do anything to be in the industry. But I worked 18 hours a day for three years, and with commuting, sleeping for roughly three hours a night.

Different times, and it is a means of “thinning the heard”, but hours are still nutz.

Difficult to make personal plans outside of work ahead of time, due to the ever changing schedule. Sometimes there can be long hiatus & you can either take the rest or find something else while your tv show is taking a break. Hours can be 8 - 18 hour days if you working on a movie/tv set. From PA - Grips department.

Sometimes people who have risen by experience and ability I doing the job will be put in a 'manager' lead position and they have poor skills in actually directing coaching and/,or correcting support staff. Ego can get in the way of common sense and mutual respect.

LinkedIn is a garbage app where I can’t even post my opinion or experience because it will go against the mainstream ideologies. If I even “like” a post then I worry that my peers and managers see what I like and suddenly I need inclusivity training. What a load of shit! You can’t be who you truly are on that app. Which is why I like fishbowl so much, the anonymity is a game changer. If LinkedIn was a anonymous, we’d see a lot more support for Kanye and a lot less LGBQT material. Bet!

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.
