I work for one of the top three in the leaders’ quadrant and had some visibility in our submissions to Verdantix.
Take this as a directional report but not as any sort of conclusive judgement. ESG / Susty is a very broad topic and different consultant are leaders in varying areas. Those that didn’t respond are also doing some fantastic work in the space.
As an EY sustainability consultant I obviously like what I see. I'm probably not experienced enough in this industry to comment on how other firms are perceived in the market in this area.
What’s the difference between blue and grey?
Grey didn't submit data to Verdantix, I believe.
So Verdantix is trying to be like a Gartner for ESG... Can you link the methodology? I would prefer client reviews rather than what firms submit themselves if only a perceptions-based survey, and ideally hard data (size/growth of work)
Definitions are tricky also as really we should be trying to mainstream ESG across all industries/sectors. If a firm's non-S consultants do S work, is that accounted for in these methods?
What’s the reaction around this list: https://www.forbes.com/best-management-consulting-firms/ - can filter by sustainability
Forbes list seems questionable with EY so far down and Accenture at top for susty.
