Yay! Another running group!! Hi!
Happy Halloween! 🎃

Hello folks at Uber, I’ve been approached by a recruiter for the role of a Regional Operations Manager - Eats’ Marketplace team. Wondering how this fares against the Strategy and Planning team (which I’m guessing is the most elite Strategy team at Uber). Also, should I be looking out for any other non-engineering teams within Uber that are well known for what they do?
New to Fishbowl?

I’m at EY in the US. We are hiring in specific areas. There’s a path from MD to P, but it’s not a guarantee and will depend on your performance, business case and support. I see a lot of incoming MDs and PPs struggle with the latter - takes a while to figure out your way around the firm, who matters, etc. I would say it happens regularly but not at high rate
Comp will depend on the practice you’re going into, your expertise and experience - quite a bit of a range for MDs. It’s competitive in my experience.
Really appreciate how helpful this thread is. Thanks.
I heard (on Fishbowl before) that MD -> P is possible at EY but I haven’t seen it. I’m not at EY though.
It's possible but they don't want this because then every MD will ask for the same opportunity. They're also desperate to keep the number of equity partners as low as possible. They're putting it out as a carrot to get you to join, but you'll need either 5x performance (for example) over a few years or an influential leader to want you to be a partner for it to happen. The unanswerable question will be "what's going to be different after we make him a partner?"
What you not a Partner yet?
I chuckled 🤣
