I've been told that Allianz is pretty good. The woman who recommended it paid just under $500/year for herself and her husband. Someone also recently recommended tripinsurancestore.com.
I had USI travel insurance services on my last trip. I didn't need to use it, so I'm not sure how good they actually are. I think I paid like $400-ish for two weeks of coverage last year?
I think a lot of premium credit cards provide free travel insurance
That’s an insane cost. Yeah I get it free with chase reserve but was thinking of getting rid of my card given new changes

I just looked this up based in this thread. The Allianz coverage for $500 for a couple only pays $2000 for trip cancellation or trip interruption per year. If you are getting it for the rental car coverage, lost luggage coverage maybe it’s worth it. When I buy trip insurance it’s to protect the non refundable hotel and air expenses which are typically a lot more than $2,000.
Not sure if insurance is worth it - the likelihood of paying claims is low and the money lost is insignificant. So you pay $500 to protect yourself from losing $2000 - if the odds of canceling your trip is less than 25%, why not take a gamble?
