Big money in Ocala. John Travolta has a place there and lots of wealthy horse farms. It's quite nice. Doubt flooding is an issue.
I’ve only *actually* stayed there once but have driven past many times as I lived in S. Fl and went to college in N. Fl. I would definitely call it a small “town” compared to other cities in FL. It’s a close drive to Orlando and Gainesville. I’m not sure about the crime in the area but it seems like a quiet place, probably very family friendly.
Sorry, don’t know much about Ocala. I live in Gainesville and been to Ocala a couple of times. Got the old, small, sleepy town feel. What’s taking you there?
Yeah, grew up in Tampa. Ocala is a smaller town but still decent. There is no way EY has an office there though. No flooding. A little country out there than other cities in Florida. If I moved back to Florida it would be Tampa. Big enough city. Great place to raise a family.
South Tampa, Plant School district. A-Rated school district and close to EY.
For what’s it’s worth, one of the latest hot and upcoming areas is Lake Nona in SE Orlando. In the past 5 years, the rapid pace of its growth has been a major draw for many. KPMG Lakehouse is located there, along with their new managed services center. Disney is moving their California headquarters there. Not to mention, there is a lot of $$$$ and more coming. DM for more details.
Doesn’t flood. Expanding, but still small and a lot country not a little lol. The schools are ok, but not the best. My brother and his family lived there for years as his wife’s is from there. He hated it - he was finally able to get a work transfer and hasn’t looked back. I always hated visiting them lol -Ocala is just not it. Agree with the above about Tampa.
I'm considering Ocala because it is considered to be fairly safe from hurricanes and I saw online that Tampa is a high risk city for hurricanes.
Where are you moving from? Have you considered Gainesville? Bigger city but not yet big city. Better schools, healthcare..
